Controversies and Issues in Managing the Sporting Hip
3rd-4th November 2008 at the University of Warwick
Convenor: Professor Damian Griffin
Sports Hip Surgery 2008 was the second such conference building on the successful meeting in 2006. Directed at surgeons with a specialist interest in the hip, it addressed hip problems in young sportsmen through to the ageing athlete with challenging early arthritis.
Debates included a review of developing diagnostic and treatment strategies; focused debate on new ideas in joint-preserving hip surgery; emphasis on minimally invasive and arthroscopic surgery; expert international faculty presentations, workshops and discussion groups.
This exciting symposium was organised by Warwick Medical School. Delegates experienced presentations, debate and informal discussion with a wealth of distinguished speakers from the UK and abroad.
Sports Hip Surgery 2008 took place in the prestigious landscaped surroundings of the University of Warwick's Conference Centre. Set in inspiring grounds, the centre is both striking and welcoming. Being specifically designed for conferences, delegates can look forward to purpose built light and airy lecture theatre. There are also separate rooms available for additional breakout sessions and discussion with members of the faculty.
Delegates also enjoyed a conference dinner on the Monday evening, 3rd November; as this was a residential course, delegates had a wonderful opportunity to network with other delegates and faculty.
